Professor M.A.N Adeboye (M.B; B.S, MPH, MD, FMCPaed, FRCP Edinburgh, FCPA) is a Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health (Neurology) at the University of Ilorin and a Consultant Paediatrician with the affiliated University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State. He graduated from the University of Ilorin in 1997 as one of the best-graduating students. He had always demonstrated a flair for academics and clinical practice. He was the Chairman of the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association, UITH between 2019 and 2021 and was appointed as the Director of the School of Preliminary Studies in the year 2022 and as the Head of Department, Paediatrics and Child Health, University of Ilorin in the year 2023.

Haven completed his NYSC scheme in General Hospital, Kontagora, Niger state, and proceeded to commence residency training in Paediatrics in the year 2000 at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital which he completed in the year 2006. Thereafter, he was engaged by the Federal Medical Centre, Bida, Niger State as Hospital Consultant Paediatrician for nearly two years before returning to the University of Ilorin as Lecturer 1 in 2008 where he rose through the ranks to become a professor in the year 2019.

Prof MAN, as fondly called by many, has been to all states in Nigeria either on UNICEF, WHO, or Federal Ministry of Health-related assignments, Conferences, TOTs, or Workshops on Child Health issues in Nigeria. He has attended several international conferences and trainings in countries like the United States of America, Australia, Egypt, South Africa, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Saudi Arabia amongst others.

He is a trainer of Resident doctors, an Examiner as well as a Faculty Board Member, Faculty of Paediatrics of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN). He is the current Secretary of Faculty of Paediatrics, NPMCN. He is also an External Examiner to several undergraduate and postgraduate medical schools in the country. He has contributed to the production of over twenty Consultant Paediatricians and many more senior Registrars to date.

He has authored well over eighty scientific publications in local and International journals of repute and book chapters. He is happily married with children. His hobbies include reading, travelling and making people happy, and making new friends. His guiding philosophy in life is that “everyone will soon become a story, ensure you become a good one”.
