Samuel Kolade ERNEST, is a Professor in the Department of Paediatrics & Child Health, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin with 25 years University teaching, research, and administrative experience.

He has served as Head of Department, Chairman, College of Health Sciences Curriculum Committee and pioneer Director Institute of Medical Research and Training, University of Ilorin. His areas of research interest and publications cover Paediatric Infectious Diseases, Haematology, Community and International Child Health. He is the Institutional Lead for African Research and Innovative Initiative in Sickle Cell Education (ARISE), University of Ilorin and Director for NIH Clinical Centre Remote Site in Nigeria.

He has to his credit more than one hundred publications in reputable outlets covering journals, edited conference proceedings, books and chapters in books. He has successfully supervised over 40 Fellowship dissertations and 4 Ph.D. theses. He has won a number of research grants. Professor SK Ernest is a member of many professional bodies within and outside Nigeria.
