Mohammed Baba ABDULKADIR is a Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin with about 13 years of university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
He has served as Coordinator of the Medical Education Resources Unit of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin. He is a Consultant Paediatrician with the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. His areas of research interest cover Paediatric Cardiology, Paediatric Infectious Diseases, particularly malaria case management and therapeutic efficacy clinical trials; and health-seeking behaviour.
He has to his credit over sixty publications in reputable outlets covering journals, edited conference proceedings, and chapters in books. He has successfully supervised over 1 Masters dissertation and 11 Fellowship theses. He has equally won several research grants. Prof Abdulkadir is a member of many professional bodies within Nigeria.
He is a trainer of Resident doctors, and an Examiner as well as a Faculty Board Member, Faculty of Paediatrics of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He is also an External Examiner to several undergraduate and postgraduate medical schools in the country. He has contributed to the production of over twenty Consultant Paediatricians and many more senior Registrars to date. He has authored well over sixty scientific publications in local and International journals of repute. He is happily married with children. His hobbies include reading, travelling and making people happy, and making new friends. His guiding philosophy in life is that “everyone will soon become a story, ensure you become a good one”.
